Trump's mismanagement of COVID-19 killed a lot of people because he thought that the economic impact of social distancing early in the cycle would negatively affect the economy and, his image. Nursing Homes are established to provide a level of care to a variety of patients whose overall condition is deemed to be sub-acute. Having worked in several non-clinical roles in Health Care Management over 30-years in the largest health provider in America, I have witnessed many dozens of disagreements between Hospitals and Nursing Homes. Nursing Home Clinical Staff remind us that they don't "warehouse," patients when negotiating salaries. It is fair to expect them to care for patients with COVID-19 and other communicable diseases whose conditions are deemed to be sub-acute. As long as they employ established isolation protocols. they should be safer from infection than when they are shopping at a mall.
