The female Ghostbusters remake didn't work because making the exact same film but replacing the original male characters with exact female counterparts make it a bad film that doesn't work. The Ghostbusters movie was a flop in the box office was because it was a movie that simply didn't work and was unpopular with everyone. The fact that you're defending a movie that everyone didn't like just to spite conservatives is f**king pathetic. The reason why Dune 2 worked as a film is because it didn't try making the exact same film but with female counterparts of the original characters, it's a sequel to the original and has original female characters that are good female characters with strong character development and not something as weak as a gender-swapped copy of a character.

No, the reason why right-wingers like Ben Shapiro hate one but love the other is because one is a bad movie and the other is a good movie, nothing to do with "media illiteracy", if anything you're the one who media illiterate because you can't see that a movie is bad because it's a very weak and unoriginal concept of making the exact same movie but swapping the original characters for female copies and the other is a good movie because it's an original story with an original female protagonist with strong character development and a very strong role in the story. In fact, you don't even have to right-wing, left-wing or political in any way to know what's a good movie and what's a bad movie.

I knew from the start of the remake this was going to be bad when they changed Butlerian Jihad to Butlerian Crusade, making a Male Character a Black Woman, and showing Freman and other Arrakis inhabitants not having 'blue within blue eyes'. Oh, and it looks like the current movie is aiming for the OG movie's ending of terraforming Arrakis. That didn't happen until the forth book and it wasn't a good thing either because of how Leto II went about it.

As for Dr. Kynes being played by a black woman… cope. Just f**king cope. Sharon Duncan-Brewster was great and her final scene went hard as f**k. Die mad about it.

If there’s any actual problem with the film’s racially blind casting, it’s that few if any of the Fremen were played by Arab actors despite them being explicitly coded that way in the book.

Dude, the last time they tried that in an adaptation it looked like shit. And don’t say it was because of the lower budget for that miniseries, I’m sure the filmmakers went through a bajillion contact lenses and post production effects and still couldn’t make it look right.
