To be honest the whole student loan thing is a scam from start to finish. If colleges only had classrooms and teachers, student loans would cost less than half of what they are now. The student loan should be treated as a regular loan and they shouldn't give them to people that don't qualify, instead encourage scholarships with tax cuts. Finally cap the interest and fees of a student loan at 100% of principal (really this should be all loans).

I agree in the future, obviously that AI, Robots and automation will take MOST IF NOT ALL of our jobs. However, presently I disagree that the variety of people my meme alludes to are desperately searching for jobs. It may be that they ARE obtaining a job in their field....i.e. the lack of companies hiring for PHDs in medieval gender studies. Unfortunately, many the people that are SUPPOSEDLY desperate for funds find their useless degrees elevate them above jobs that they could do tht are always hiring. They've been coddled their whole lives, treated with kid gloves and feel no obligation to anything. If they did, they would do any thing to support themselves.

Also, tons of websites, maybe lots you already go to, had their writers replaced with AI...last year. Sites that are own by the same company that does Siliconera.com is one of them, one of the many.

5 years ago, two companies I worked for, replaced all their US and UK workforce with people from Mexico and India with the excuse of "we are a global company". Those same people from India and Mexico will soon be replaced by AI.
