your right, saying something such as just "Christianity is a death cult" is much to inclusive. all religions started off as cults pretty much when you think about it.

That would be a 'cult of personality'. For example Raelian is about UFOs. That doomsday cult in Japan that murdered a whole lot of people on a subway.

The thing that separates religion from cults is the ability to voluntarily leave. Christianity was never a cult. It was 100% voluntary.
