Game Theory! Minecraft Dungeons happens before Minecraft and after Minecraft legends. Where it talks about the ancient builders and their quests into the nether. I mean it is the only time it makes sense in the timeline and would also explain how many technologies and mobs are now found extinct. Not only that but at this point many mobs are now hostile.
