Yes, they remained communists but they lied and said they were simply concerned and patriotic liberals setting out to expand the mental scope and nature of Dem Party politics. Like untreated cancer they finally metabolized and took over the Party . . . even though it took many decades.

And they have metastasized into many other organizations and institutions,

Yes metastasized . . . not metabolized. Sheesh! I guess it was still too early in the morning for me to think that through.

My point is as they have spread outside the Dem Party
