This is what happens when you heavily subsidize developing technology which is at best suitable for niche cases and try to force it into heavy commercial use.

And just think about the geniuses that want to have the military running on all electric vehicles and tanks! There's no better way to cripple both our economy and troops.

I live not far from there (in northeast Tennessee).
My only personal experience with it is trying to drive through it on the way to somewhere else. Absolutely horrible freeways to negotiate. The area (and NC in general) has a great deal of natural beauty, but fouled-up politics.
