Even though I don't adhere to Marxist socialism and I don't praise communist dictators, I do admit that Salavador Allende isn't as bad as Marxist leaders go. He wasn't a tyrant dictator like Stalin, Mao or Castro, he was the first socialist leader to be elected into office rather than violent revolution or military dictatorship. His policies did benefit the people of Chile and the economy and unlike most socialist leaders, he didn't have the government control the media or anyone's free speech. He allowed free speech for everyone, he didn't even silence the U.S. backed media that demonized him. Despite me being more right-leaning, I will never defend Pinochet, he was an evil fascist tyrant dictator, his economic policies caused mass poverty in Chile and he killed anyone who dared to question his rule and demonized them as communists. In fact, I view the CIA as a very evil organization and the U.S. government really shouldn't interfere with the elections of foreign countries.
