The people pushing this crap on us don't care anything about the environment. It's all a money-making scheme... and you're the one left holding the bag... again...

It costs consumers more to own an EV than a gas car... And there are more problems with them too.

It takes , on average , 11 years, to start reaping the cost vs fuel rewards of an ev.....
But the battery only last 9.5 years , at which point you're better off buying a new ev lol

yup... and the battery degrades for each year...

Ford, GM, and Honda have paused or quit building evs...cited expense, cost, sales record, slowing demand.

That is bad enough. What if, like gas pumps, there are cars at every charger when you get there? Now you are there maybe 6 hours.

You can't carry a can down the road and bring back a few gallons of electricity to pour in.

Something else seldom mentioned - roads.

Americas roads and bridges are crumbling everywhere. These EVs weigh 30% more than a gas vehicle. The cumulative effect of that 30% will be disastrous I think.

Then there's the weight vs. stopping distance, the additional weight factor in collisions, etc.

The catching on fire...catching in fire in your garage, in traffic, in crowded parking lots, parking garages...

Yeah, when they get into a wreck, there's a cool off period before mechanics will work on bc they go boomboom

I hadn't thought about the additional damage done to the roads by the extra weight of these vehicles. Around here when they (finally) repave a road, it's back to the same bad shape it was in before being repaved in less than three years.

We have a lot of EVs in this area (sf bay area, taxifornia), probably because we're a woke, sanctuary state, but it seems like it's always been this way. Until now, I had chalked that up to our state and local govts being super cheap on maintaining our roads with the billions we give them each year to fix our roads, but now I'm not so sure. And when it rains, it's worse. We are definitely not getting our money's worth with the tax dollars for our roads, EVs or otherwise.

Romans built roads still in use today.

All this modern technology only to be able to build crappy roads.

I grew up in a really rural area. Our only way in/out was 20 miles of a bumpy gravel to the nearest hard road.

About the time I left home they finally paved it.

Two years later and up to this day that paved road is lumpier and bumpier than the gravel ever was.

Not to mention the several areas where the road slipped away leaving one lane a three car length void to the bottom of the hill.

If you don't know it's there, especially at night, you will find out the hard way.

One spot was left that way for at least 5 years that I know of.

Imagine folks out there with EVs...crazy.

I grew up in a relatively small college town in the midwest. The midwest, where it snows and rains and freezes (well, stays frozen) which does serious damage to the roads every winter. Yet those roads were (and probably still are) in better condition than the roads here. It's definitely up to the state or local govt as to whether they do a good job on the roads or not. And yes, the gravel roads out in the country where I grew up were always in better shape than the paved roads here in taxifornia. Very sad considering how many billions we pay dictator Newsollini, from all of our paychecks or every time we buy something at a store.

I stay in Temecula some times and the infrastructure there is in great shape.

Roads, bridges in good shape, no dilapidated buildings, clean - no trash anywhere, beautiful.

Except for the prices and taxes... But no tent cities yet!

The scorching heat has it's good points.
