usually i hate talking about politics, but seriously, i simply can't resist talking about this, even if i get banned for it
trump's supporters are just so... braindead, for lack of a better word
your other choice of president isn't great either

so, you either get...
1. a whiny mango who wants to build a giant wall with taxpayer money, rather than investing said money into healthcare, infrastructure, technology, or anything else that would actually be beneficial to literally anyone
2. an old guy who barely knows what a handshake is, isn't fully aware of the people or objects existing near him, and trips on stairs or whatever, and is probably disconnected from reality at all times
...as the person who is in charge of arguably the most powerful and influential country on the planet. YIKES.

y'all americans are screwed unfortunately, and we here in the EU aren't doing too well either, with them trying to force bugs down our throat, or make our car seats — scratch that, the whole car — out of banana peels , or drink from paper straws that get soggy as soon as they exist, or try to get rid of private property and have everything rented by multiple people (COMMUNISM, YAAAY!)
(...and then people wonder why gen Z have gotten so depressed or why doomers exist...)

How is it reasonable to dislike Trump? The media painted him as a racist against black and brown people -- when the man literally received a humanitarian award for his help in the advancement of people of color, by Jessie Jackson and Al Shartpon.

The tongue has the power of life and death. It’s not just Twitter either. “Immigrants are poisoning the blood of our country” remember that? Your deity said that at one of his rallies.
0 ups, 5mo,

That's because illegal immigrants crossing the border DOES JUST THAT. Our "blood" is our financial capabilities as a Country. When you allow hundreds of thousands of people to migrate illegally - you place a financial strain on the "blood" of this country.

Because now those people have to be vetted, have to be housed, they bring crime with them, and where does all the money come from to do all that? It doesn't come from thin air... It comes from people who are LEGALLY working in this country in the forms of Taxes. Taxes that are supposed to be used to keep our border secure for example...

I suppose I’ve never thought about it like that. When you put it that way it makes more sense.
0 ups, 5mo
I mean think about the people in government against the border wall... The people running cities and saying they are sanctuary to the illegal immigrants. A large percentage of those people live in Houses that are either surrounded by a fence, a wall, armed security, and any combination of the three.

Do they live behind the wall and fence and armed security because they hate the people that voted for them? Nope - they do that so they can have a sense of security. Just like anyone with the means to does.

So it makes a person think - if they understand that concept for themselves, walls and fences and armed security keep them safe... Then why aren't they considering that for a border wall to keep the country safe? That would help keep the citizens safe?

Wow, shows how ignorant you are to History.

Trump: Keep our border secure - make our country great, keep our country great, our citizens... Made up of all nationalities.

Hitler: Jews are infidels, Germans are the best genetics, let's destroy our country to kill the Jews and then expand our Regime by taking over other countries.

One is inclusive of all citizens in the country being great... And one is a genocidal maniac that committed mass murder to make Jews extinct. These two things aren't the same thing. If you think it is - it's because you're ignorant to History and (like I stated before) are probably brainwashed.

I think to some extent it’s because part of the American dream is that capital success is supposed to be available to everyone through hard work and determination, and we want to give that to people in places like Mexico where the living conditions are so poor. However, you’ve made some valid points, and I would agree that it’s important to do it legally. It just feels like we are putting up a wall not just physically, indicating that we don’t want anybody to enter. But again, I see what you’re saying. Locked doors and all that.
[deleted]

I’m sorry, how is keeping immigrants out inclusive? “America first” sounds pretty nationalistic, akin to comments made by Hitler in the 1930’s and 40’s. I know for a fact I’m not brainwashed, I’m impartial to both sides. I get it, illegal immigration has negative effects on the economy but at the same time, keeping everybody out and keeping America for the Americans is not inclusive.
0 ups, 5mo
We don't "keep everybody out" and that's never been on the table. We have LEGAL migration processes. Letting illegals reside in a country is a slap in the face to everyone that worked hard to migrate here legally.

We have laws and processes that people can follow - that ends in Citizenship.

Closing illegal entry points is not Xenophobic - it's not a slight for those who aren't behind our borders. It's a loving gesture to those of us born here or who migrated legally.

People don't lock their doors at night because they hate their neighbors. They lock their doors because they want their loved ones safe. Same for the border wall. The US putting up a border wall to stop the largest induction of illegal immigrants isn't because we hate everyone else... It's because we love those that are here and want them all to be safe.

Open borders that criminals can AND DO use - is akin to not locking your door at night. You invite trouble when you don't lock your door at night because of how easy it is for the criminal to enter.

LOL - checked out your profile... Saw a comment on how you're hoping people will figure out Climate Change.

That fits my original theory... You're brainwashed.

Climate Change is a gimmick used by elites who want to control energy so that they can make a ton of money off the working class people.

About 30-40 years before you were ever born... We only had 10 years to figure out Climate Change and it was called Global Warming. If we didn't do something, we would all be underwater in 10 years.... Fast forward 50 years later with an enriched motor-vehicle carbon footprint, tons more people farting, tons more cows to make burgers for everyone... And we STILL aren't underwater. Why?

Because it's a bull crap theory used to push alternative energy sources.

Plus alternative energy helps us not run out of gas and oil bruh you are so American blooded bruh like at this point you can be an English teacher because at this point how much you take your time to be a key board warrior could be used for something useful
0 ups, 5mo
Yes there is. Money and the billions of reasons in the form of $1 bills. People getting by with this and it only costs X to do it, verses people being forced to use less effective means for energy with higher costs.

Whomever controls those alternative methods controls the future market of energy.

You think it's real? If our output of carbon played any roles over our existence as a country... The Water Level at Plymouth Rock would have swallowed the rock, according to the scientists that started Global Warming in the 1960s.

Yet here we are in 2023 and the Water Level hasn't risen visibly. Almost as if... It's a lie. I mean, sea levels were going to rise and swallow our coasts... Yet here we are and our coasts are NOT swallowed up.

TRY please TRY to use your brain here... Why are the social elites buying up Beach Front Property at premium prices? Especially by people saying Climate Change is real - and that it will cause the ice caps to melt and the shores will be swallowed if we don't do something. Why would people who think the shores will be swallowed up by the seas purchase Beach Front property?

The Answer: they know the shores aren't going to be swallowed up.
0 ups, 5mo
Ok, sure. Climate change won’t end humanity. Probably. Maybe it will, maybe it won’t - depends on what we do. You’re also right about the rate. Sure, it’s slow, but it is happening. And yes, part of its natural, but humanity is expediting the process. It may be unnoticeable now, but it’s happening. My beliefs won’t change.
0 ups, 5mo,
1 reply
Fair points, but:

Climate change is slow. It’s not like we’ll wake up one day and half the world will be underwater. It’s less than a couple inches a year, so it’s unnoticeable. Maybe people are buying beach properties because climate change won’t affect them so soon (In their lifetime), or maybe they won’t think that climate change is real either, despite that fact that they’re most likely wrong. And in the 1900s, scientists had less technology and the world was different. Maybe things changed for the better? Maybe for the worse? Plus, let’s say that it wasn’t real. Then what is the carbon doing? Why are water levels slowly rising? Why is the temperature rising? Why are there more natural disasters? Think about it.

I’ll respect your opinion, but I still stand by mine. Feel free to believe what you want, though.
0 ups, 5mo
A natural cycle of the earth regardless of whether or not people drive gas/EVs. Rising sea levels? Unnoticeable in a nearly 300 year span... Plymouth Rock's first and current pictures show no noticable differences.

If it's only rose less than a quarter of an inch over nearly 300 years - it's going to take a heck of a long time to swallow the shores. Humanity or AI will have extincted humanity long before Climate Change ever would.

Also the flowers bloom in Antarctica and have been for thousands of years. Know your info before you spout off an look silly like you're doing now.

Antarctic flora are a distinct community of vascular plants which evolved millions of years ago on the supercontinent of Gondwana.

In regards to the images being peddled to say oh look at the climate change problems... They literally didn't even use a picture of Antarctica

Our rating: Partly false
While a 2022 study did find a global warming-related expansion in the range of two Antarctic flowering plants, the photo does not show those plant species. The photo is labeled as being captured in Greenland on a stock photo website.

So they are referring to plants that evolved MILLIONS of years ago to survive in that climate. And using fake pictures to tug at your heart strings.

I've got a bridge for sale if you're interested

Well that's because people tend to blow things out of proportion. It's obviously not taking ten years, But it could still eventually happen. It's not a scam, It's just hypocrisy. You need to accept That some people are hypocrites, and do shit like this. This is a real issue, backed up by real science and real scientists' research, Look at how polluted some areas are and how it affects them. bring up another snopes article if you want. Maybe even look for some evidence that's against your opinions and beliefs, And fact check it yourself If you're really that sure. Cite a credible source, Stop going back in time to when shit got blown out of proportion. Just be reasonable. Simple. Also on a side note, Please work on your grammar.

Good point but your literally going to ignore everything else? The fact that antarctica is melting, There is a hole in the ozone, And you calling it a hoax? Why don't you go find more snopes articles regarding those
0 ups, 5mo
Dude... When I was in grade school, in the 1980s , they talked about Global Warming and how the shores would be swallowed up in 10-12 years. Late 1990s came and went. In the late 1990s, Al Gore took up the cause - we only have 10 years he said... Mid to late 2000s came and went. Fast forward to modern times and it's the weird looking girl peddling it....

Why would these people telling you climate change is going to swAllow the shores buying up Beach Front property? Because they know the beach isn't going to be swallowed up.

Why do they fly around in private jets to go to climate meetings Instead of using Zoom? Their use of that jet round trip exports more carbon than our cars produce all year... Why do they do that? Because it's a scam. If they really wanted to save the planet from climate change they wouldn't dare set foot on a jet to go to a summit about climate change. But they do - why? Because they all promote alternate energies - get pay offs from those energy companies - and take the trip on our tax dollars to do it.

What we see as variant weather patterns from year to year are just natural cycles for the earth. No more - no less.

yeah
climate change is important but the way we're trying to get rid it right now is horrible
the higher ups just shove everything down our throat with zero time to get used to it rather than gradually doing everything, and in most cases there are just no good alternatives, not to mention that a lot of of the "eco" "green" stuff is just as bad or worse for the environment as what we had — take electric cars for example, their batteries use lithium as well as various rare metals, mined out en masse by child labour in China with zero cares on the effects; alongside this, of course the people who could actually make a difference (billionaires) travel to various conferences in quad-engine private jets that in one flight has more emissions than most cars will in their entire lifetime, or arrive with a gas guzzling SUV then a couple hundred meters from the building entry (where all the press is) switch to a bike to show how "green" they are
...and then there's the activists gluing themselves to the road or throwing paint at classic artworks to ruin them... smh, y'all see why i hate humans now?
1 up, 5mo,

Completely agree. Won’t go and type out a whole essay, but here are my thoughts:

EVs are a joke. Like you said, even though they’re charged with electricity, the batteries just go to waste when they’re not used anymore and are created using methods that require non-renewable energy. On top of that, no government is willing or able to fix all the problems that are coming from climate change. And like you said, most billionaires or millionaires are too concerned about themselves to take care of future generations. And although it may seem comedic, MrBeast is doing the most right now, and from what I can tell, he cares the most about fixing the planet. Props to him. Most people, on the other hand (Mostly in Europe), want to fix it but are picking the wrong methods to do so, like attempting to ruin famous paintings with soup (Even though that has nothing to do with climate change), blocking roads and causing traffic (It’s not the drivers’ faults, plus the longer they wait the more carbon they emit, making it counterproductive), gluing themselves to the street (Why??), or pouring milk on the floor. I have almost no faith in humanity.

And a quick note on American politics:
Not to side with the either of the two recent presidents, but they’re both a joke. People who dedicate half of their lives to getting one of them to be back in office are usually……. Not very smart, to say the least. We need a better leader than what we have now.

Lately - yes, in 2015 it wasn't so much like that - and criminals passed the border that were Mexican that have both killed and raped and robbed US Citizens. A problem created by the lack of control in their own country of immigration from southern counties through Mexico and also Mexican cartel and drug/contraband mules.

It wasn't racist to point out facts of a situation that negatively impact US Citizens is my point, get that's how the media painted him. Why?
