Hitler Democracy

Democracy is two wolves and one sheep voting on what to eat.

He was nominated for the position of chancellor (#3 on the totem pole) by the president and chosen/elected/confirmed by the members of parliament.

His party had a large number of seats and had spent the previous several years intimidating the other parties, arresting opponents, etc., ensuring he was "elected".

After the president died he simply took over that position as well.

The ensuing "election" was the result of a national vote for combining the offices of president and chancellor YES[ ] NO[ ].

Hitler had already assumed both offices and there was no choice of candidates.

The vote made it law.

So your saying "YES MEN" perverted Democracy and enabled Hitler to be elected. Hmmm... Sounds familiar here in the United States these days... Which is my whole point of posting the meme.. To get people to think...

It worked because he had political opponents arrested and imprisoned and sent out goon squads to intimidate the masses, threatening them with a similar fate.

If they can do that to the high and mighty what chance do the low and powerless have?

Resistance made futile.

Even had them telling in each other and often wasn't even true....just keeping themselves looking ng like a friend of the party.

Just like the youth of today in America.
