That's about the most inaccurate take I've seen regarding non-neolibs' views on taxes in a long time.
Spending $30 TRILLION dollars that we don't have is not the "dues you pay to live in a civilization." It's nothing more than reckless deficit spending that will tie the hands of future generations, saddling them with debt they didn't rack up, well after we're all dead and gone. And they're going to hate us. I don't blame them. I hate us, too.
I want smaller govt and lower taxes, period. That doesn't mean I am unwilling to pay taxes. As you tried, but failed to point out with inapplicable examples relative to govt over-spending, taxes are the cost of doing business.
When people with some sense of fiscal responsibility take over the federal govt (because at some point, they'll have to, or we're Venezuela...) and the neolibs are whining and crying because Uncle Sam won't wipe their ass for them any more, the tables will be turned and those who don't like living sensibly, within our means, can feel free to leave, because absolutely nobody will be demanding that they stay.
