I agree as to that specific; but I think that for the average Democrat -- whom really doesn't even think about abortion in their daily life -- it harks back more to intellectual laziness than specifics. They have this mental filter that makes it easy for them to avoid thinking about things that their leadership -- Dem Party officials elites/celebrities and the Mainstream media -- uncomfortable.

The tagline, "Vote Blue, no matter who" isn't for nothing. I think MOST voters, regardless of party preference vote based on the letter after the candidate's name.
