well the Dems vote in unity for someone like Cheney, if she agrees to it, and they'd only need several Republicans to concede that she's the most qualified AND that Trump or other nominees lead to Unacceptable Consequences. the Republicans thereby keep control of Committees.

it doesn't have to be Liz. just someone who's acceptable to the Dems and who several Republicans can support. but i think Liz must have 8-10 actual Republican friends in the House, perhaps people who are retiring soon anyway
