What they really do not understand is we will never accept their rule and they do not have the strength to force us too.

They figure that they can control enough -- go along to get along -- types to make their takeover of the nation work while they simultaneously keep passing separate little laws to effectively end run the right to bear arms. Once they have effectively disarmed enough people, they have a population of serfs, and the takeover is complete.

Will it precisely work out that way? No. At some point the Right is going to fight back. What happens then is anyone's guess.

Disarming American's is an impossible dream the left needs to give up. Anyone with a 3d printer, a backyard shop or just a good set of tools can make a firearm. There are enough black powder weapons alone to arm everyone. No matter what magic the left could use to erase every firearm on the planet within a few weeks millions more would be fabricated and operational. If it came to an actual war to protect them modern firearms would only be part of the problem what is left of our woke military would face. Homemade armor vehicles, long range weapons, multiple fire arrow systems, booby traps of all types, even long range almost silent compressed air sniper systems. Our woke military would be helpless as would any of the political elite, no road, no city, nowhere to hide. Not something I would want my children to see, civil wars end badly for everyone.
