Even a majority of Democrats now believe that the charges against Trump are concocted by cynical politics to prevent him from becoming president again. They have admitted this in poll after poll. It's just that they don't care that their leadership has corrupted the 'justice' system for political reasons.

The irony of this is palpable given Trump is the one that's spun multiple fake investigations into Biden - first by illegally withholding defense funding from an ally unless they announced an investigation that didn't exist, and now by demanding the House GOP start this evidence-free impeachment inquiry - because he knew then and knows now Biden can destroy him at the polls.

You also seem confused about what the word extortion means - Shokin's firing for corruption was a precondition of loan guarantees being offered by more than a dozen countries and the International Monetary Fund.

It might help if you understood the context of that video - specifically that he was in Ukraine to extend loan guarantees on behalf of the US, EU, and IMF who set Shokin being removed from office due to HIS corruption as a precondition for those loans.

Shokin had been taking bribes for years at that point, and all of this was before Hunter's "activities there".

Except he absolutely did. He illegally withheld the funds on July 3rd, and only released the funds more than two months later days after the impeachment investigations began.

He didn't, as president, have the power to impound the funds, much less as a means of extorting Ukraine into announcing a non-existent investigation into Biden.

Do you know when the fiscal year ended? Do know that the funds have to be dispersed before the end is the requirement? And lastly... every penny got dispersed before the end of that year...

The end of the fiscal year was only the date on which the funds would have no longer been accessible - it has no bearing the fact that withholding the funds was an illegal act on July 3rd when he ordered it to happen, which he then followed with the second illegal act on July 25th of attempting to extort Ukraine with those withheld funds.

Yeah, he released the funds days after he realized he would get impeached for it, but the paste was out of the tube by then.
