Actually, it does say he has the power to control life and death. That’s kinda the whole point. He’s the son of God. And also, who said he had to kill or smite obiwan? If obiwan somehow managed to hurt Jesus ( which Jesus could probably counter or destroy the force, since if the the force embodies all things, and God created all things, then therefore Jesus could control the force too), then God could just cause a natural disaster or anything really to take out obiwan.
