no. no i don't. while they may be cute, the main reason people assume I want one is because I'm a sonic fan/shadow simp. i wouldn't want a hedgehog just bc of those factors. i'd rather want one because they're cute. and I might get one in the future because of that, but I wouldn't get one just bc of those two things I mentioned. i want to get the hedgehog for who it is, not because it reminds me of smth I'm obsessed with. and I would NOT name it 'sonic' or 'shadow' etc etc because the hedgehog is its own being. not a replacement or reminder. it deserves to be 'adopted' bc of who it is, not bc it reminds me of smth.

yes but

the thing is, i wouldn't be tempted by it. i don't feel any sexual attraction to irl animals--or furries unless you count shadow as one--so there's no risk for it being f**ked. i just would rather not get one solely because of sonic. even if a hedgehog might not be super intelligent, it still has feelings and while it may not be hurt by it, i still would rather respect its intelligence

Yeah it could bite you, but so could a dog.



You also don’t have to take it on walks or groom it.  And it doesn’t make noise at night like a hedgehog probably would.

true, but i just freak out when I see the tiniest spider/bug

I'm just scared of them in general

although, if I had my own pet tarantula I might get over it but it might take some time

I know people who can’t even look at a picture of a spider.  Meanwhile they own cows and horses and hang out with them all the time.



A horse can kill you any second.  A spider can’t.

while spiders are scary for me, I can handle most pictures of them. i guess the reason why is because of how fast they crawl and how they can be just about anywhere. they're just icky ig

Spiders can sense you’re 1000 times bigger, so using venom on you is a waste.  If one ends up on you, it usually wants to get off.  That’s why they web down or jump off the first chance they get.  Which is why it’s so hard to get a picture of me holding a brown recluse.
