Some laws don't apply today (ritual sacrifice of animals, unleavened bread on holidays, cleanliness laws, etc), but some laws exist to point out clear sins, like bestiality, adultery, murder, etc. Just because we don't follow the Mosaic law to a T does NOT mean we can justifiably "do the diddly" with animals.

Yes, but that doesn't mean that we should CONTINUE to sin KNOWING that it's sinful, because then we aren't really repentant
