I have a feeling this is another example of Trump playing chess while the media and many others can barely grasp checkers.

Why should Trump take the stage and have these other candidates attack him? At a minimum Christie will tear into him like he's sitting down to a plate full of bbq ribs.

Trump is less likely to be attacked if he's not there AND it's more likely that these candidates will attack each other, taking the weakest out long before Trump even needs to deal with them. Seems pretty simple, but of course the media is too biased and dense to piece it together.
