No, the atmosphere isn't 100% O2. it is 21%. Remove 21% of something in a vacuum and tell me what happens.

Full Disclosure. I have taken meteorological classes in tech school. My tech school was about 40% Weather Equipment. I have worked on the WSR88-X. Do yourself a favor, the next time your local news station has the weather; look to see what the EQ it is using.
