It will be interesting to see if Hilary follows the storm trend this summer or comes ashore as they are predicting | Hurricanes lose strength when they move into water cooler than 79 degrees, like the 66 degree water off California; Hurricane Hilary is moving into the same cooler waters that have stifled every Pacific hurricane so far this season and turned each storm NNW back into the Pacific Ocean; But don't worry, with climate change, Death Valley should become a lake this time | image tagged in jim halpert pointing to whiteboard, jim halpert explains | made w/ Imgflip meme maker

The average American only remembers the first hysterical headline. With the attention span of a gnat they never follow up to make the connection between fiction and reality. Good thing they graduated from college.
There have been at least 3 hurricanes that started in the same area and went back and forth from intensifying hurricane to tropical storm several times before they fizzled out in the central Pacific so far this summer. The fires in Maui were stirred by winds from the remnants of Hurricane Dora as it moved north of Hawaii
