Thank you, my nephews are visiting next week, been cutting scrap today so they can learn to weld. I also have a trailer to repair but they need practice before they tackle something that has to hold weight.
Or if they are tall enough they get a free tour of the farm buildings. . .maybe getting smacked in the head by low hanging pipes, archways, and rafters will knock some sense into them.
And if I'm not mistaken such things can lead to bigger opportunities. For example the kid does machinist or mechanic and develops an interest in engineering. The previous skills and training should open doors for better job opportunities or further education.
Most farmers and ranchers have side hustles renting out their equipment, the kids usually end up as small business owners with a ranch as a side hustle.
YOU WANT ME TO GO TO TRADE SCHOOL BEFORE COLLEGE? YES, SKILLED TRADES EARN MORE THAN MANY JOBS OUT OF COLLEGE, AND YOU CAN START RIGHT OUT OF HIGH SCHOOL. PICK SOMETHING YOU WILL USE ON THE RANCH, WELDER, MACHINIST, SKILLED MECHANIC, OR HEAVY EQUIPMENT OPERATOR
