It's just so weird, he reeks of unmitigated phoniness to the point of bordering on hyper caricature on meth. I always wondered if it's just because I grew up with his constant attention seeking, but his schtick is so irksome.

Even Reagan, as much as I disliked him, I could sense why he appealed to his base so much. Load of bs too, but there was a demeaner, a message, a hook, a personality with a discernible charisma for a certain demographic. He was annoying and chock full of bombastic posturing, but he had that fatherly quality, stern, gruff, seemed like he meant business even if not really.

Trump, on the other hand, makes everyone almost forget what a blithering dunderhead of a tool W was.

George Bush SR. Seemed normal to me. He seemed engaged. His conservatism seemed sincere, his Christianity seemed correct. His foreign policy was actually impressive. They scared everyone a little with the new world order shtick, but compared to Trump its a joke.

I thought Bill Clinton was a better president though. I never got caught up in the whole right vs left thing, but the phony outrage and blatant hypocrisy on the republicans side made me sick. It was effective enough to get dummy Jr illegitimately elected.

I couldn't stand Clinton, since the '88 DNC speech on.
But yeah, the GOP went way too far, even more ridiculous because Bill was a Republican in disguise.
