The elected members of the house of representatives call all the shots. Presidents have no real independent power. They are a figurehead and a mouthpiece, the press secretary for the House and Senate, if you will.
Write ( call, email, tweet, post on their Facebook page ) your state representatives and make your grievances and expectations known.
Lobbyists can't line their pockets if they don't get elected.
