Lost to history.

The accepted theory is that sometime in 2020 there was a series of alt raids that got the follower count over 1000, and from there, new users, seeing how massive the stream was, did the rest.

That was an accusation from the Overload stream, which took pride in being the biggest user-created stream at the time.
When MSmg got cool, they tried to have it known that the mods and owners of MSmg deliberately created alts just to get higher up the list.
It shouldn't be surprising for the largest or the second-largest user-created stream to attract a cool amount of followers.

There actually were several alt raids, but they were made to harass users, not to get the follower count up. Several were about me

"MS_memer_group, as we all know, has apparently met its end today. Sunday, May 28, 2023. Many of us grieve now, many celebrate as well. Did any of us truly predict that Sauce would be serious? And that Del and the others would support this? Perhaps so.

Deep down, we all know this was a good thing. MSMG was becoming addictive, and nothing but a toxic shell of its former glory. My attempts to restore old MSMG were in vain, for those 2 months I had owner, and it seems now we have given up. But that's okay. A dead stream is better than a stream in ruins.

For those of you who remember the glory days, of Summer 2021, and perhaps 2022 as well... let's think back. When MSMG was a truly beautiful place. It was a place of great history... and lore... where truly funny shitposts could be shared, where people could connect... it was a home away from home, in a sense. And even after the events of August 3, 2022, it remained that way.

And ever since that day, and perhaps even months before, the cloud of imminent doom was lingering above us. Some chose to recognize it, and warn us before it was too late. But collectively, we ignored it. We continued in our selfish ways. And this is where it has left us.

MSMG could've been saved. But we chose not to. We chose to let our ignorance consume us, and our beautiful stream. And now.... we have no stream.

The time has come for us to move on. We'll get on with our lives... we'll go off to college, get jobs, pursue what we dream. But MSMG... I think, at least for me, will hold a special place in our hearts forever more. Whether we choose to stay on Imgflip... or finally delete, that's up to all of you, individually.

Farewell, everyone. It's been a great 2 years here... but perhaps... it's time for us all to move on, better ourselves... and be the people God meant us to be.

That looks like a f**king EAS Scenario

Ever since Bombhands left, I was... expecting the downfall. I didn't join in 2021 or 2022 like others. I didn't experience the Narkuum. I joined in December 2022. Even then, it felt... peaceful. A hellhole, sure, but in between the sitemods leaving and Bombhands leaving, I believe Msmg was in a state a relative tranquility. A state where people could relax, have fun, and draw. Maybe I blocked out the bad memories, but that's how it felt. After that, I deleted and came back. Bombhands and Drizzy left. Msmg became... worse...

With new users flooding in, and old ones returning, I thought it was getting somewhat better. Instead, they were here to cause pain and anger. Silver, anyone? Anyways, I knew Msmg was dying. I hoped it would get better and live to shitpost another day. Instead, controversy and drama hit this stream like a truck. Every day, a user was a pedo. Every day, someone threatened suicide. I knew this stream was dead...

In the end, I think Sauce, Therapi, and del's choice was for the best. No more addiction, no more hate, no more lives ruined. But someday, when I'm in my thirties, I will forget. All of it. Any idea of Msmg will cease to exist. In the end, I hope we all live an amazing, prosperous life. Goodbye.

I am proud and grateful of the work I did as an owner, not just the fun parts but the few good things I also tried to do. Every MSMG mod (well, almost) dreams of owning MSMG, and for 56 days I got to do it. That's 54 days longer than I thought. And I did it my way, and I don't regret one second of it. For those of you who are upset at this development, please do not be cynical. It's not going to lead anywhere. Del and Sauce and THP will not listen to cynicism. It's over. Nobody in life gets exactly what we thought we would get, but when we're kind to one another, amazing things will happen. Maybe by 2024 they'll trust me again, who knows. I'll continue to serve MSMG as a regular moderator, and I'll try to stick around until at least my third anniversary on 1/10/2024. But thanks for the ride, everybody, and good night.
