This was just what me and a friend came up with at 11 pm tryna prove God could exist thru science… i find it a theory on the level of Last Thursdayism. That is to say: kinda crazy

Your definition is another one of the “mixing up levels”. Heraklit defines the highest level ( he wasn’t Christian, either, so no need to get anti-religious).

I don’t want to imply anything. I just want to point out that there so many definitions of the word „God“ in this world that it is impossible to know what somebody speaks a about when (s)he speaks a out God within further definition.

By the way, if you look for a scientific definition of God, read what Heraklit wrote about “ho logos”. Ho logos is the definition of God in the original Greek language of John 1,1(New Testament).

I see, but God just referred to the ultimate being featuring in king jame’s scripture. I don’t pretend to be some knowledgeable scholar. The idea of “attuning one’s life to God’s will” (heraklit) sort of features when I say that He’s learnt everything about life, basically God is all-knowing and we just need to attune ourselves to Him. Still, it’s just a weird, mind-boggling one-liner explaining away the ultimate deity of “God” featuring in Christian scripture in a way that confuses and repulses people… or makes them laugh. I cant decide which.

Thanks for answering. But Heraklit certainly didn’t write “attuning one’s life to God’s will”. Do not rely on any translation of the bible and discuss with it - it would only show that you are someone who gets fooled by idiotic translators. I have had experience with translating texts in science for many years, and even there it is the same thing, unless unambiguous formulas are used. It is sad, but true. This big confusion because of not really understanding what someone writes or speaks is one of the major reasons for the chaos we have in the world. Sad, but true. People do have to study the original language if they really want to talk an about philosophical of religious texts. Otherwise it remains uneducated chattering. But I appreciate your effort to try to understand.

Could be. I haven’t read the Old Testament thoroughly and don’t know Hebrew. And one (or more) of those gods could well have been aliens - unfortunately very patriarchal ones. Ho Logos is a completely other story on a much higher level. But we have that level in ourselves, if you listen carefully enough to yourself (e.g. instead of to influencers etc…), and that is truly amazing.

Some addition: the “god” of the Old Testament (original language: Hebrew) is obviously very often defined in a different way from “ho logos” (different level of definition). Some authors other than John of the New Testament might have confused the two definitions (when the word they use is “Theos” and not “ho logos”) which makes the confusion and chaos even bigger.

Actually I believe multiple Gods are mentioned, even a Hebrew female deity who was symbolised by a tree (very common symbol, I know, but I don’t know too much). Then there was that commandment about false idols and they started throwing dirt at other religion’s gods mentioned at covering up the existence of the female deity. Correct me if I’m wrong, just tryna get by. Thx for the info. Peace out.
