Muh dude. You need to catch up.
This is the crime that Micheal Cohen when to jail for. Trump was labeled as Individual 1 in Cohen's trial. The ONLY reason he wasn't indicted and charged at the time was the existing DoJ memo that says sitting President's can't be charged, indicted, or sent to trial (outside of an impeachment process).
That's why this didn't go down in 2018. The only thing that protected him was that he was a sitting President.
They didn't "investigate him" for 6 years. This has been waiting. The prior DA, a Trump appointee, didn't move on this case because of "reasons." In New York State, if you flee the state/country, or are otherwise unable to be brought in to trial, your statute of limitations clock goes on pause.
It waits for you to come back. (It's because of the mob, btw. They woudl flee the country to avoid arrest. It was such a problem that New York has laws to make sure things stay on the books)
And, these aren't misdemeanors. These false records were done to conceal another crime, the political donations in kind for the payment to Stormi Daniels.
The 34 charges are all the different times he signed off on each step. The shell companies. The transfers of money. Each step was a separate crime.
The irony here is that if he'd paid her directly, and had her sign an NDA, and entered the transaction into his accounting properly, it wouldn't have been a crime.
But because he concealed it to make sure it didn't come out during the campaign, via multiple transfers with assumed names, AND lied about it on his taxes, it's a felony.
You're free to vote for whomever you want for whatever reasons, but voting for someone because they got caught committing crimes is a crap-tastic ideology.
