Here come the chara stans lol

I wouldn't exactly call them "Chara stans"
Some of them are people who actually understand that it was your choice to do so. Sure, some of the dialouge hints that Chara is evil, but some are explainable.

I believe that chara is corrupted by our actions

the "thing" in the genocide route isn't really Chara, it just looks like Chara.

Chara... I mean, they are evil in a way? Just not in the way most people think.
If you read into the lore, specifically what you learn from Asriel and the tapes from the True Lab, Chara ended up in the Underground after a failed suicide attempt. They didn't seem to like humankind at all, and probably wanted to remove themselves from it by jumping down a big hole. And then later on, their 'master plan' with Asriel was to kill themselves using buttercups (which they learned were dangerous after accidentally poisoning Asgore) and have Asriel absorb their soul, gaining godlike power. They then wanted Asriel to cross the barrier and get the souls needed to break the barrier by killing the other humans. The only reason this plan didn't work is that Asriel was simply too nice to go along with it.

Very gray area. Their actions are questionable, but lots of it is either justified or influenced by us.

I feel there are two ways the Undertale lore goes.

One: Frisk isn't actually corrupted by Chara in Genocide. As seen in Deltarune, Kris rips out his soul so we can't control him. This was taken advantage of in the Deltatravler Execution route where Kris says he can't control themself. This could be said the same for Frisk. I could be interpreted that we, the player, are controlling them and they can't do crap. Maybe Chara comes along to give Frisk a reason for their murder spree.

Two: Chara forces Frisk into a Genocide route.
