The problem with this is that any "legit" researcher can post an article there.

There are always fake research articles out there. Plus this article was made in the Netherlands, to which there's nothing wrong with there Netherlands, but its Press Freedom rank is 28th, sixth place down, marking the country's worst performance since the index's inception in 2013.

To which Press Freedom rank calculates the degree of freedom available to journalists in 180 countries by pooling the responses of experts to a questionnaire devised by RSF targeted to media profesionals, lawyers and sociologists.

The problem is people don't check the references supplied there...

You are missing the fact that this guy is a doctor of philosophy, not science. Also, just because something has citations does not mean it is trustworthy.

Another key reason, just see my previous comment. Plus there are some people who earn PhDs and they still misinform people.

And you wanted to ignore the facts...
