Your life might not be as good under socialism or communism if you were a capitalist under the previous system. For example, bourgeois property is going to be expropriated and redistributed which will include large estates. If you lived in a mansion you may not get to keep it.
However, if you are living a modest working class life chances are your life will only improve for the better. Your local community will begin holding general assemblies, which anyone may be a part of, and it’s your opportunity to give input about what changes you’d like to see.
Instead of your same old boss, the workers themselves will put management to a vote, either sending delegates to the local labor council or electing management in the shop (either way deciding who directs production).
If you lack housing or efficient housing a task committee will be responsible for allocating you into a proper living space.
Food, clothes and other necessaries will be distributed equally to all. The trade unions manage consumption.
Once we are efficiently producing necessaries and everyone is provided for, we can produce luxuries again and allocate labor more efficiently, reducing the hours of the working day and increasing time for recreation, hobbies and leisure.
