The vikings used to live in iceland and they always invade and conquer other places. Once a Viking in the name of Erick the red discovered a place fully covered with snow. He knew no one will be in interested in a cold icy place. So when he went back to his place. He claimed he went to place called Greenland and everyone should go there. And that's how it got its name
