Yes, you told me that your wife is from around here and likes RUSH. Congrats on another grandchild on the way! I’m thinking of retiring next year, but we shall see. As far as imgflip, I don’t wonder around much and most of my interactions are with school aged people.

Thanks! My wife wants me to retire and move to a ranch, but I keep holding out until I physically can't work. I spend most of my imgflip time in "Politics" where I think the average age is higher, but I try to avoid the flame wars.I'm here to mock, not be confrontational. I’m behind you by a few years I think.
I recently turned 62.
I really like my job, but I’d like to get time with my wife before we get too beat up. Money wise, I think we’d be ok, but will look closer before pulling the trigger.

Actually I turned 60 last month. I was eligible for early retirement at 55, but I too like my job (electrician) and thought it best to keep working and add to our benefits. My wife is a real estate agent and I get nightly updates of listings that are horse friendly. Eventually I will be the next Oliver Wendell Douglas ("Green Acres"). I just hope Haney doesn't try to sell me a Hoyt Clagwell tractor. All the best and I hope you can make retirement work out. :-)

I had written down that I thought you were ahead of me in age, but will update that. I guess the subject of retirement came up before, and I added years to you, lol. I’m an electronic technician and work on equipment for the phone companies. Started out as switching equipment for landlines, now it’s all cellular equipment.
I’m glad we both like what we do. It’s sad when people get stuck doing something for years and don’t like it.

That Haney saw me coming a mile away...I swear he could sell hamhocks to Arnold. I got pretty lucky career wise. I spent 4 years at Washington, but couldn't find anything I wanted to do long term. Fortunately I was working summers in Alaska and one day made on offhand remark to a machinist about how the electricians really ran the place. Next thing I'm back home and get a call from the head electrician saying he heard I wanted to be an electrician. That was in 1987. I guess we're both pretty lucky. Well, time to feed Eleanor. Take it easy!!!
