Quite simple. The media doesn’t show this kind of stuff or try to get you emotionally compassionate for these people. When they support an ideology, they try to manipulate you with emotion. But they won’t do it for some people. Imagine being neglected when you’re in need, simply bc helping you doesn’t fit someone’s ideology.

Yo they smoke fentanyl pills now. It's called "the blues". Putting Mentos sized blue eggs in a tinfoil blunt with whatever dry herbs around.

vBackman, as a long time resident of the SF bay area, I gotta say I'm a bit disappointed that Sac was listed ahead of SF. They may not have invented the homeless drug crisis in SF, but by gawd they have perfected it!

LMAO re your 'perfection' comment but to be honest, Elvis, I didn't find the pic of San Francisco until AFTER I had put up Sacramento. Your point is well taken and mea culpa for 'researching while posting' (kinda like 'drinking and driving').

Thanks for keeping me straight (although you failed in SF). :) My husband & our son were born there and although most people are nice in SF, they are still mostly wackos. It must be in the water but my boys are both strong Conservatives (just like you) so they survived the liberal push (more like a shove).

A gazillion dollar 100 foot tall wall won't change that.

Also...... If there was a magic wand and we suddenly got rid of all fentanyl in the US, the people portrayed in that meme would probably just be on heroin instead.

And theoretically there would be even more of them since fentanyl wouldn't be killing them off.

(And possibly scaring people away(?) Although idk if fear of potential fentanyl OD actually scares anyone away... Anyone in 2023 has to know that any drugs on the street these days might contain fentanyl and yet however many people still do them)

So do nothing? It sounds like you think we should just just let anyone in and let the fentanyl kill off its users. Not trying to start a fight, that's just how it comes across.

I'm saying if the OP's theoretical goal is less drug addicts in cities across America, continuing to build the wall and/or getting rid of fentanyl will probably not do much to achieve that goal. It might even have the opposite effect.

Also, considering drug addiction often goes hand in hand with mental health issues, another thing that is probably not the solution: cutting mental health and rehab programs...(as many repubs and even some democrats have done.)

If you want to ease drug addict suffering, either give them supervised exact doses of pure drugs with clean needles ...or have programs that can help the addicts who want help with their mental issues and other rehab type stuff to get them to quit........ Or both.
