The more I think about it, the media NEVER mentions melanin ratios when it's not a white shooter. *ESPECIALLY* after they initially report a shooting was due to racial bias, and we find out later the shooter was someone from the same ethnic group
And like you already said, the white person caused it anyway and probably had it coming.
