Right now a lot of it is. I used to consider western animation and entertainment in general superior, even though anime had more content for people who got older (High School, College). However, even if I felt that way back then, a lot of western entertainment has gone down hill.
These cheapskates with all their money don't want to hire good writers. So they hire new writers, don't even train them, pay them a child's allowance, and when the story sucks they make it woke or race swap a character so they can accuse all their critics of racism.
