They've floated that idea a couple of times in Colorado - since road maintenance is based on the gas tax and first there were the high mileage vehicles (think Prii) then all EVs gas tax revenues are going down but miles driven is the same (or increasing).

EVs have their merits. But lower operating costs, let alone "'saving' the planet," aren't one of them. They just shift the financial and environmental burdens from one area to another.

Except that tax is supposed to be voluntary so if we get Biden out and trump in or someone else the demos (or demons) will flush out and taxes will be significantly lower

Teslas charge at half the price of gas, but you fill up 1/2 more times which still saves 1/2 of how many times you would fuel up so in the estimated lifespan of your tesla you save over 7k

Did you see that experiment where they charged a Tesla with a diesel generator and challenged it against a diesel powered car? The Tesla got better mpg out of the diesel despite however much loss converting diesel to electricity in the generator. Maybe it was a flawed experiment though idk.

And speaking of diesel fuel...... What ever happened to the impending diesel crisis that y'all were counting down the days about..?? It was allegedly like 21 days left or somethin quite a while ago..... Then all of a sudden nobody counting anymore. Oddly silent. I can only assume that means we never ran out of diesel fuel?
