Oh relax. I didn’t say all who vote Republican are former Southern Democrats and KKK.

But all former Southern Democrats and KKK vote Republican.

And we conservative Republicans SHOULD be asking ourselves… why.

Especially if we’re going to pretend the Democrats now have the same policies that founding Republicans opposed (they don’t).

Those SD’s and KKK’s you speak of are all but dead now.

Oh honey, only dead people vote Democrat.

But not all Democrat voters are dead people.

The KKK and the descendants of the same nefarious values of Southern Democrats are very much alive.

Whatever, sugar booger.
The KKK was founded by a Democrat.
I don’t give a rip if the Democrat is Southern, Northern, or a Druid… today they are all equally reprehensible.

So it’s okay for the KKK to vote for modern Republicans because they were established by Democrats from 150 years ago?

You do understand that the issue of Slavery was thoroughly excused by the South decrying that federal government had no authority to remove it due to States Rights and under the guise of Religious Freedoms was invented as an excuse to continue archaic and immoral practices that founding Republicans vehemently stood against, yes?

Remind me, who is championing States Rights and Religious Freedoms now?

Democrats?

2023.
We are right now, in the present, living in the year 2023.
Not 1859, not 1865, not 1955…2023.
Come join us in the present.

So history has no relevance?

Interesting.

Elaborate your point.
1 up, 1y
It only has relevance if you can learn from it. Apparently, my opposition hasn’t. Even today, colleges and universities seek to implement “separate, but equal” on their campuses. Clearly, it is unconstitutional, yet, the BLM-types are trying their hardest to go back to the 1950’s. Weird, huh?

2023, where Republicans pass Jim Crow law after Jim Crow law.

Only not to benefit whites over minorities, mostly blacks… like old Southern Democrats did.

Now! It’s against transgenders and homosexuals, immigrants and non-Christians.

Wonderful progress there.

BLM isn’t the Democrat party.

Zero legislation is passing by Democrats that are discriminatory.

Republicans are passing them every month.

Mostly MAGA republicans.

Soon many to be replaced by Democrats.

This is what happens when Modern Republicans appeal to bigots.

It didn’t help the 19th and 20th century Democrats

It won’t help 21st century Repubkicans.

A pity some Republicans learned the wrong lessons.

Conservatives and moderates don’t side with liberal racists on any party.

Name a single “Jim Crow” law passed by any Republicans in 2023.

No, the KKK was not established by Democrats from 150 years ago.
If it was or there was connection between the two, both would have been sued out of existence. There's a heckuva lot more mullah to be gained from the DNC than the KKK, the latter which has been in effect sued by the SPLC & Co into neutered into mere sponsors of annual march & BBQ shindigs at select small southern towns which will allow them to. To suggest that this has never occurred to anyone in a land where folks sue McD's for serving steaming hot coffee is ludicrous.

And it’s “moolah” not “mullah”
A Mullah is a Muslim learned in Islamic theology and sacred law.

Modda. That was a question and is clearly his point of view, not fact.
1 up, 1y
No it isn’t. You guys keep living in the past. We have gone way beyond the ignorance of the 1850’s, beyond the bigotry of the KKK, and have shunned Jim Crowe. The Democrats want to keep those eras alive in the minds of the ignorant masses who they depend upon for their votes. It has become a grift for political opportunists and they likes their grift.
See my detractors comments… perfect example.

What, the Lily-White Movement Republicans (and other Republicans in the South) get a pass for their segregationist policies and activities?

There was never a party switch, one (major) party in the South dropped its racist stance, the other maintained them, and thus the latter's ranks swelled. Even St Lincoln the Messiah was an openly racist pussbag.

I believe every generation before was more racist than the last.

One might think that with each generation, there would be less and less racism but there is in fact, more of it.

I wonder if racism is not really a binary issue but a spectrum.

Much like gender. We’re all racist. Some more than others.

That doesn’t mean discrimination should be tolerated but I don’t think you can simply shout it down. It’s a fallacy, one that could be fixed with logical reasoning.

Racists have no valid logical thinking and are going to be unreasonable in their arguments as a defense mechanism to prevent them from having to personally conclude they are wrong.

It can be observed what wasn’t considered racist then, is racist now. What isn’t considered racist now, will be considered racist in the future. Though, retroactively was always racist.

Interestingly, I cannot think of anything that was considered racist then that is no longer racist now. So, I think racists hide behind this all consuming idea of racism to become an inevitable imposition of social limitations as some kind of attack on their identity. Because, of course, society continues to associate skin color as a form of identity.

Sorry. You probably think I’m babbling. On pain meds. Surgery. It’s a bitch.
