I’m honestly coming up short on the reading material. The question is genuine.

This is a great question! Time for research!

I’m being completely serious. I apologize if I’m using archaic or inaccurate terms. I’ve read very little on hermaphroditism despite my best efforts. Arguably, they would suffer more from a complete ban on hormone therapy.

I realize there may be many of you who believe it futile to make exceptions with unreasonable people making hasty policies for mere shallow political drama, but I am curious of the actual harm it would incur, if any?

What would happen if transgenderism or gender spectrum was finally accepted in our society but that the cost came at the price of hormone therapy in children?

Would it still be necessary? There could be all kinds of biological complications, certainly. But what are they? Can they even be classified beyond a case by case basis?

Another problem with modern Republicans and so-called conservatives who want a simple one-size fits all answer. Thoroughly anti-conservative, in my opinion by the way, to allow government representatives to away any medical autonomy. But since I highly doubt Republicans will be putting transpeople, or at least trans children, or those suffering from physical biological mutations into camps (at least not yet) and with liberals having their thumb on what is and isn’t socially acceptable; I’m mildly curious what the cons will be should my aforementioned compromise come to pass.

It may be presumptuous of me to ask but I assume there are people here who’ve at least put more thought to it than I with this seemingly overlooked minority.

Hopefully I’m not offending anyone here, or worse, putting you to sleep.

If you got any relevant reading material please do link it. I believe it may help at least give me an informed opinion.

it may be helpful to separate the idea of gender and the idea of biological sex.

Gender is a social construct, but biological sex isn't.

The question I think you're asking is if hormone therapy is universally banned what about hormone therapy for someone who has the biological markers of both sexes?

Have I summarized it accurately?

Correct! And I’m on the up and up on the difference in gender and sex. I agree and I did not convey that well.

Yeah, English, despite being an adaptive and fluid language, still struggles in this area. I am interested in how we'll change it to accommodate it.

In the bottom part of your question you seem to have loaded the question by using the term "subject them to it"
I look at it as access to medical technology. When somebody is of reasonable age to make decisions about their own sexual identity and expression the hormone therapy is available as a tool to adapt their bodies how they envision themselves.
Taking that away looks to me like government overreach into personal expression and everybody's ability to manage their own bodies.

Oh, hands down this is definitely government overreach once they are making moral decisions over any medical procedure. Elective or otherwise!

I’m specifically referring to hermaphrodites, and in this case, that decision to modify their genitalia is not exactly their choice.

I have no interest in discussing the political what ifs or even whether it is wrong. Instead what I’d like to know is the ramifications if hormone therapy were withheld.

What potential complications would immoral legislation, disguised as moral justice, cause.

I already accept there will be immense harm to trans people. As well as hermaphrodites.

What I don’t know specifically is the actual harm.
