ImgFlip could sure learn a lesson from Douglas and Musk. But they'll just keep on doing what their overlords tell them and temporarily suspending posts and/or deleting comments.
When I started on imgflip politics steam three years ago, the moderation on this stream was not NEARLY as restrictive and controlling as they they are now.
The mods here on this politics stream have become overly controlling what can be said about the trans topic, and their constant overbearing censorship definitely makes this site “less fun. for me, and why I usually just stick to Reddit.
Any mockery using memes of the ridiculousness notion that girls can “become boys” or boys can “become girls” on a whim is quashed… on a meme site!
I had a “Sam Brinton” meme, where he was pictured teaching a “Kink 101”, class removed from this politics stream (you can see it on my profile), and this is the reason was that was provided:
“Memes, comments, or other images whose sole purpose is to attack a person or group of people in a condemning and non-humorous way are subject to deletion”
Well… That is a BULLSHIT deletion reason, seeing how as they have allowed dozens of “non-humorous” Mir-A-Largo Martyr of the Day posts about ordinary, non-political private citizen’s criminal court cases, and never had a problem with those.
I’m so f**king sick of it, so I just come here less.
I posted a meme I created yesterday, , and it got 18,254 views so far, and I guarantee that’s not from this stream.
I guess I could JUST use Reddit to post my memes, and ignore this stream altogether, but I don’t feel like I should have to.
I’d like mods to explain to me the difference between my removed Brinton meme, and the Mir-A- Largo Martyr of the Day memes that are allowed to stay based on their “reason”
It was about 3 or 4 years ago. It happened when Facebook, Twitter, Google and, apparently, ImgFlip tried to control the outcome of the 2016 presidential election. That is when all of this censorship crap started. The problem is once it got started they don't know how to stop it.
Apparently the only way Elon Musk could think of to stop it was just to buy his favorite social media site. And now the libs are screaming bloody murder. They think that Musk buying Twitter and allowing people to speak their mind is "destroying democracy". It is just ironic that those who do not understand what a democracy is, call themselves Democrats. But then we were never a democracy in the first place.
I got on Facebook in the late 2000's. I used to get into debates with a family member, who is a liberal, all the time. They were intense debates but not heated because we still love each other and I have a whole lot more respect for him because of his intellect. Over the months those debates just tapered off when we both realized it was pointless.
If we had those debates started in the age of liberal censorship, I would have been warned, put in Facebook jail several times and then eventually banned from Facebook altogether.
I've only been on ImgFlip for maybe a year. I don't remember when I got on this thing.
