Yeah, I was reading about that on Quora, as I went looking for specific admonitions but then ended up there
(https://www.quora.com/Should-Jehovah%E2%80%99s-Witnesses-celebrate-birthdays)
and then came back without getting the exact quotes, although my last line is the gist of a quote from scripture of which I would have to retrace my steps to find again which ain't easy as I tend to zig zag all over the place, much as my sentences,,,
Sorry, even more tired than usual, so I'm being lazy.
PS: Ah, ok, here it is:
"One could even say a birthday celebration goes against God's instruction in Ecclesiastes 7:1, where Solomon writes, "The day of death [is better] than the day of one's birth." God's perspective on this matter, as in all things, is far higher than ours (Isaiah 55:8-9). He has more joy when we leave this world, having overcome it, than when we enter it (see Isaiah 57:1-2; Philippians 1:21-23). God's perspective seems to be, "Why celebrate the day all your troubles began? Far better to celebrate the day they ended in victory!"

Actually I didn't read the whole part till now, just saw the intro bit when I Googled and other references to them as well, then ended up in Quora because there's always a nice mix of different opinions there, a good portion very informed. You could go on and on on that site, loads of good reading, jumping from one subject to another....
Yeah, I kinda do things a tad haphazardly,,,
