Aye: Reasoning

We need strict voting laws to prevent another Rigged election from people bringing in outside votes.

I'm not head of congress remember, I cannot pass it (OlympianProduct would have to since he's going to be HoC, but there's every chance that 1forpeace could abstain because he likes one part of the bill but doesn't like the other)

But yes, we cannot get our 2/3 supermajority but that won't happen for long

I've got a question: are you forcing people to vote against bills just because you tell them to? I would say that's scummy if you do because that'll stop our progress of trying to make this stream better

don't lie, you always use memechat empire and we know what you're up to, trying to force everyone to agree with you or you'll dump 'em and call 'em liberals like what you did to me because I crossed the floor.

You should resign for memechat empire trying to force everyone to agree with you and that's plain scummy.

Everyone has a right to cross the floor. I courageously crossed the floor and ever since I left your corrupt party, you started harassing me.

Nay. I agree with needing an ID to vote. But I don't see how that can be done in five days.

better off abstaining than nay because that'll ruin this stream

But isn't the rule that you need an ID to vote already in place? And I saw how you want to expand on it.
If you're having a hard time getting people to vote, how is making unrealistic changes going to help?

"But isn't the rule that you need an ID to vote already in place? And I saw how you want to expand on it."

Yes, we already have an ID to vote and that's the DMV ID. But, in my opinion the DMV system is ruined because BritishMormon has brought in outsiders to join the stream and wreck the system because they haven't agreed to be active.

"If you're having a hard time getting people to vote, how is making unrealistic changes going to help?"

Well the quick solution to increase the voting turnout is for user to actually be active and if I restrict voters to only active users, that's the way it should, so be it.

I think a better way to get users to vote is to start promoting it after each election. Considering it can take a while to get an ID.

And have the users who you say are inactive, have they posted anything?

Can you explain what you mean by "promoting it after each election"?

"And have the users who you say are inactive, have they posted anything?"

It's too early to say, its only a week since the election

Promote the ability to vote in elections to all users, I mean if you want more people to participate, don't you want them to know they can?

That won't be a bad idea to encourage people to be active so they can vote, but at the end of the day I cannot force people to be active

On the issue of being active how do you know the users weren't active? When you say now it's too early to say, if they've posted anything.

Are you saying being active in the site or active in this stream?

"But in the elections like today's, not everyone has to participate to vote?"

Have I mentioned its mandatory to vote? Nope.

"I have to wonder why would they have to participate in this stream to vote? Isn't that limiting the number of people who can participate?"

No, its not my fault, its curbing back mail-in voters. Mail-in voters make bad governments come more frequently.

"And you've seen SurlyKong69's opinion of my activity on this site. So if you're occasionally active on this site, that doesn't seem to be good enough either. Which would negate this voting law. So why are we here again?"

I don't want to argue but SurlyKong69 is probably correct, but you may change that.

I know if I am not active enough, I know not to vote and I'd apologise to the people who are genuinely not active because they have a vacation or something, but we'd need to implement this so we can have good governments return and more people would be active, simples.

There's no more reason to argue with you.

Correct

Because you have your own way of seeing things obviously. With some not caring about people's everyday lives.
It's your way or no way at all, huh? Sound familiar?

We'll there's still another 5 weeks or so, and if someone has been extremely active on the first week but hasn't been active ever since, I believe they shouldn't vote for that election.

"Are you saying being active in the site or active in this stream?"

Has to be in this stream. I mean, if someone hasn't been active on this site for x amount of weeks, they'll probably forget to vote. But if they haven't been active on this stream, they cannot vote because bad governments lead to loss of users and would likely to kill this stream
