Calling it "nonsense" is putting it much too mildly. It's nothing but vile, intentional lying to mislead the ignorant, gullible republican base and turn the United States into a facist regime.

That is also true. My point was that average Republicans are dumb enough to believe anything their overlords tell them. The fact that it sinks to such low levels is, for them, an added bonus.

A couple weeks ago I was listening to a conservative Christian radio program, and somebody called in and said that the original name for the ACLU was the AACCLU, the American Anti-Christian Civil Liberties Union. Obviously I was very skeptical of that, and it took just a few minutes to research to find out that it wasn't true. But when the host was told, he just believed it without question.

They'll believe anything as long as it sounds like something they want to be true
