I watched the Fetterman-Oz debate. Fetterman’s speech is impaired, certainly, but it’s also evident he knows his stuff. He is not, as Republican memes would have it, some rando on death’s door wheeled in from a nursing home or hospital. He has experience, he has clear and consistent positions, and I had no trouble understanding what those positions are.
Dr. Oz, on he other hand — a practiced TV personality, a fad “miracle cure” pusher, who’s never held a government position before but who carries the all-powerful Trump talisman — was a polished advocate of the GOP’s current mix of fad miracle cures.
Such as the idea that the government shouldn’t even have to raise the minimum wage, because once Republican policies are implemented, money will start falling from the sky and universal prosperity will ensue. Literally anyone who has toiled for substinence in this economy at any point over the last 40 years of Reaganomics could tell you that’s hogwash.
If you want to raise the minimum wage, vote Fetterman. If you think folks can still get by on $7.25/hour, vote Oz. It’s that simple.
