The inevitable impeachment of Biden: “sound and fury, signifying nothing.”

The inevitable impeachment of Biden: “sound and fury, signifying nothing.” | Brace yourselves — if Republicans win the House, impeachment is coming. They will do it because they will have the numbers. They will do it because their base wants it. They will do it because Trump personally demands it. They will do it simply to seize control of the narrative and the headlines. They will do it because it will allow them to falsely equate the Democrats’ inevitable rejection of their bogus charges with the GOP’s own prior stonewalling of Trump’s two impeachments. They will do it to pre-emptively take the wind out of the sails of any future impeachment of a hypothetical second-term Trump. They will do it because they reject the 2020 election. They will do it simply to further perpetuate the GOP’s decades-long project of eroding confidence in the American state. They will not be doing it based upon any legitimate assessment of facts and law. They will do it anyway because, at bottom, they fundamentally reject the notion of a Democrat being in charge: anywhere, ever. | image tagged in brace yourself, the impeachment of joe biden, biden, joe biden, republicans, gop | made w/ Imgflip meme maker

“They will have the numbers”

To clarify: assuming a midterm victory, the GOP will have the numbers in the House to pass an impeachment resolution, but nothing more. Any impeachment will be dead in the water in the Senate due to the 2/3 supermajority requirement.

Short of Biden losing an election and whipping up an insurrection on the Capitol, Senate Dems are not going to impeach Biden for anything — because that is the abysmally low bar for Presidential misconduct that Republicans have set for themselves. And they didn’t even clear that one.

Republicans will impeach Biden anyway because it will deliver many opportunities for partisan grandstanding, soundbites and zingers that will play well on Fox News in the evening, even if it ends up repelling most average voters who would rather have solutions to problems.

That’s my prediction, anyway. We’ll see!

I suspect they'll impeach Biden three times, so he'll have been impeached more times than trump.

Will they really get the chance?

Impeach him for imaginary crimes. Why? Because they have too to appease their stupid base.

Indeed. It's all about noise more than anything real.
