Apparently France is going to give Germany some natural gas (about 2% of Germany’s consumption), Germany will keep a few nuclear power plants open longer than they planned. In turn, Germany will supply France with electricity when they have high demand. Germany uses gas to run factories, generate electricity and heat homes. UK has announced they may institute daily three-hour blackouts due to gas shortage. The gas price increase has prompted several companies that use gas to make fertilizer to cut production. Brazil buys lots of fertilizer for their agriculture industry, but supply is down and price up. Expect to see reduced harvests and food shortages in the coming years.

Small space heaters don’t necessarily make up for heat in your whole house. I doubt there would be a whole bunch of people dying from the cold. But I wouldn’t be surprised if there were a few.

All you need is a space heater, a closed door and a couple thick blankets.
