California rakes and billions in taxes every year, but does not want to divulge how it spends all that money. A private group found a work around to discover where a lot of that money goes.

The same system works around the country, particularly in Democrat controlled cities. They have decades of disastrous Democrat mayors, yet never ever elect a Republican.

Taxpayers also fund the collection of union dues and pay even more for trainings, conferences, and professional certification classes. Then, the cash-rich unions make massive campaign donations. Now clout-heavy, the unions, with tens of thousands of dues paying members then go back to the very politicians that they helped elect to negotiate for more pay, perks, and pension benefits.

Detroit, which Democratic mayors have governed exclusively for more than 60 straight years, was ranked this week by personal finance website WalletHub as the worst city in the United States to raise a family.
