They had an agreement for their right to sovereignty and they've been getting shelled and had thousands of citizens killed. They said to stop and then the military started closing in.

Then they asked Russia to help and make them part of Russia because they obviously can't be part of Ukraine.

Like I said, the people asked for Russia's help because they were being attacked. This isn't a secret.



Also you do realize Russia agreed to a peace treaty months ago

AND

They could have literally just levelled the entire country with their air force but haven't. 

They're not even attacking outside the region, so much so that ukrainans who left are often returning for visits.

Nobody likes to talk about this part of the story because it ruins that whole 'putins the aggressor and Ukraine's the innocent underdog' narrative.



Just think. If Ukraine just didn't keep killing Russian and pro-russian people in the Donbas region, Russia wouldn't have shown up

See, you say that, but the fact that the Ukrainian government took such a cautious approach in the four years running up to this and Russia showed up anyway is exactly what is causing such a rejection of this bullshit in even the parts of Ukraine that WERE quite pro-Russia.

I don't think killing thousands with mortars, refusing them their rights and having the military occupy more and more of their space and closing in, is what I consider to be a cautious approach.
