I'd argue otherwise. Lots of people consider 'cat girls' furries, or have fursonas that are only partially an animal. As a squid kid's hair is made of well... squid, how would it be any different?
Firstly, this is an Inkling. Second, it's not a mammal, so technically it can't be a "fur"sona. However, it could technically be considered an Aqua-furry, because it's still a animal.
