Racial swap the character from white to black, and you've opened up underlying racial oppression as another element of character struggle and development. The film will be exploring oppression and inequality from perspective of the mermaid, but the underlying subliminal messaging will also be delivered by the racial swap to the viewer.
That itself is just the basic synopsis of the original story with the two antagonistic key components that modern day society from a left wing perspective will continue to argue exists today within non whites ethnicities.

I have been banned and had my comments deleted many many times, the one that I coppied the mod notice from was for typing the word trans, but dropping the s and replacing it with ny. I got a 24 hour suspension for that and it wasnt directed at anyone. Just mentioning the word was enough. The ban I copied for insulting another user was when a guy reported my meme and then proceeded to tell me he did it, that he had been stalking my account, and then proceeded to blow up all my memes with insults. I told him he needed help, so they banned me for 24 hours for insulting.

Ah. Ya idk what the actual rules here are about that word but if I'm speaking (seriously aka not in dark humor) about trans people, I would just say trans or transgender... And idk what the exact context was where you used the word. I'm pretty sure nobody would just randomly type that word with no other context.

Saying someone "needs help" is basically saying you think they have mental problems.. People on the right have said that in more direct terms to me plenty of times here and have as far as I know have gotten away with it. (?) But I don't flag anyone so maybe that has something to do with it, idk.
